FitConnect was born from a frustration that many gym owners, coaches and fitness businesses experience every time they recruit.
Why does fitness recruitment feel broken?
As gym owners and employers of fitness professionals ourselves, we've spent years trying to find great coaches.
Like many fitness businesses, we started with the obvious recruitment platforms. The problem was that they often generated large numbers of applications from people who weren't qualified, weren't suitable for the role, or weren't even located within a realistic commuting distance.
Recruitment became a time-consuming process of filtering through applications rather than connecting with the right people.
At the same time, we knew talented coaches who were looking for new opportunities but had no dedicated place to showcase their skills, qualifications and experience within the fitness industry.
There had to be a better way.
We believe fitness recruitment should work differently.
Instead of employers posting vacancies and hoping the right people apply, we envision a platform where fitness professionals can create detailed profiles and showcase their experience, qualifications and specialisms.
At the same time, fitness businesses should be able to discover talented professionals already working within the industry.
Likewise, coaches should be able to browse employer profiles and learn more about the businesses, culture and opportunities available before deciding where they want to work.
Our goal is to make recruitment more transparent, more efficient and more focused on finding the right fit for both sides.
FitConnect is currently in its founding stage.
Our initial mission is simple:
Build the UK's largest database of fitness professionals.
Before launching employer recruitment tools, we are focused on creating a high-quality network of coaches, personal trainers, gym managers, nutritionists, sports therapists and fitness professionals across the UK.
Our target is to welcome more than 1,000 founding members during 2026.
Once that foundation is in place, we will begin rolling out employer tools and recruitment features.
